Enjoy these photographs I took while travelling on the ferry up the inside passage between Ketchakan and Hollis Alaska.
We traveled to Craig for a business meeting with the Prince of Wales Tribal Enterprise Consortium (POWTEC) which is owned by two federally recognized tribes: the Organized Village of Kasaan and the Craig Community Association
The images From the Craig hall were at the annual meeting of POWTEC corporation.
On Saturday, dancers for the tribes performed for us at the tribal hall in Craig. It was very beautiful and very loud. Check out the beautiful blankets they danced in decorated with shell buttons and traditional animal motifs.
These two little boys, the oldest no more than six or seven danced with the troupe Here the older boy is shown with a elaborately painted oar as he drives (backs up?) one of the other dancers. Even the youngest of the children danced.
